  1. Wow Earl K. I'm sorry you were treated that way and this just affirms what we figured out about these snakes about 3 hunts into our dealing with them. Anyone that has to tell you how great of a Christian they are, ain't! Always wanting money for this money for that sell this raffle that. And when they ask for "donations" every year at Christmas for a favorite charity they always want the checks made to their own organization or cash. Never to the charity itself so I'm sure they get their cut of that as well. It's a shame how money can change some folks. I guess that's one good thing about me never having much of it lol. I make sure that will never happen to me cause I find something to blow it on when I get a little "extra". Thanks for the insight and you are a better man than me because I would have tried to cut the head off that snake with my own hunts. They will get theirs someday, you can only beat a dead horse so many times, and the horses they have been beating are down to the bare bones now. And they can't seem to stray too far from home to find sites so they will get theirs soon enough Sic Semper Tyrannis!! And I'm proud to be a part of JGD and glad to be away from them. And no joke my buddy Matt and myself started calling them "The Relic Mafia" after our 2nd hunt with them, it's so true and goes exactly with your testimony about them. Thanks for sharing!
  2. Hello, i have a Garrett Recon Pro. It's the military version of basically the ATX. It was out before the ATX. The military uses them to locate land mines and ied's. Comes in factory backpack, with 2 extra AA battery holders. Will run 12 hours continual on one set (8) AA batteries. Lisle Induction so it works great in that Culpeper soil. I will take $550 delivered at one to the Hotels in Culpeper Friday evening, or if you just want to rent it I will take $100 for the weekend. Picking it up Friday evening and dropping it back to me at the end of the day Sunday at the huntsite. Let me know if you are interested. I only have the one so if wanting to rent it will be first come first serve $100 cash at time of pickup.
  3. Anyone interested in a Gareet Recon Pro? I have one, works great, comes in backpack, with earphone, 2 sets of AA battery packs, field manual and detailed operations guide. It's a pulse induction machine and works great in that Culpeper soil. This is the military version basically if the ATX. It was in use a few years before the ATX came out. Works virtually the same and looks nearly identical. I'll take $550 delivered to one of the hotels in Culpeper Friday night. Or I will rent it out for $100 for the weekend. Also delivered to you Friday night, picking it back up at the hunt site end of hunt Sunday. Thanks!
  4. I own the CTX and I Love it, but FBS and that highly mineralized soil don't get along well at all. VLF machines can work there, of course a Pulse Induction is clearly the best choice, but if it's not an option for you, then I would bring the Deus as A. You are more familiar with it and B. It's single frequency will work better than FBS there. First thing I would do at the site is bury a target, like a bullet or button, actually one of each and see which of the 4 frequencies hits it best in different programs and then go with that setting and stay In the woods as much as possible as the soil in the woods isn't as hot. This soil can make VLF's struggle, reporting all targets as iron after just a few inches, I can't say how the Deus performs but I would choose it over my beloved CTX for that soil. Maybe someone here that runs the Deus at the hunts will chime in and give you some settings advice, anyway, good luck!
